Facility of Laboratories for Sustainable Habitation September 2010 – 2013 – 2015 Authors: Under DLR coordination (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) DLR: Dominik Quantius, Daniel Schubert, Volker Maiwald, Rosa París Lopéz, Jens Hauslage, Wolfgang Seboldt Space Innovations: Ondrej Doule Extreme-Design, TU Berlin: Irene Lia Schlacht Liquifer Systems Group: Stephen Ransom The future of living in space and future of sustainable living on Earth is dependent on advancements in architecture research. Architecture deals with effective integration of subsystems into one autonomous complex that supports life either in extreme environments of space or on Earth. The advancements in technology research nowadays provide components and notion of full autonomy of human habitation possibilities in environments that naturally do not support life. The FLASH facility will allow to evolve, advance, verify, and perfect the integration of the innovative technologies (i.e., architecture for sustainable habitation). The FLASH will provide a technology integration and experimental facility for simulation of living and working in space or on Earth. Space Innovations is participating on development of the architecture of this breakthrough simulator FLASH facility. |
